Initialed lower right in pencil, 'B.R.' for Barbara Rainforth (American, 20th century) and dated 1989. Additionally signed in pencil, verso, 'Barbara Hayer Rainforth', dated '4/89' and titled, 'Study #30'.
Barbara Rainforth received her BA from San Jose State (1982) and her MFA (1984). The recipient of numerous prizes, medals and juried awards, she has also exhibited internationally with success, including at the San Jose Museum of Art (1984), the Oakland Museum Gallery (1992-1994), Orange County Center for Contemporary Art (1991-1998), the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (1990), Gumps Gallery in San Francisco (1987), Mexico City (1993) and Berlin, Germany (2003).
