A painting by Sadamasa Motonaga. "Untitled" is an abstract painting, acrylic on board with cotton cloth in a bold palette or purples, reds, and blues by Post-War, Japanese artist Sadamasa Motonaga. The artwork is signed in the lower right, "S. Motonaga '69". Motonaga began his artistic career as a manga artist and illustrator in Japan; later, he joined the Gutai, a Japanese artist collective known for its experimentation with materials and space. In 1966 Motonaga moved to New York and shifted his focus back to two dimensional art. Provenance: Private Collection, 1970, acquired directly from the artist By descent to the present owner
