Artist Biography: Born in Liverpool and raised in Jersey in the Channel Islands, Sarah Fosse has been painting her entire life, inheriting her artistic ability from her mother, a professional artist. With extensive travel experience before settling in London in 2005, Fosse's work has been exhibited throughout Europe, including a recent sell-out solo show in London. Her paintings have gained recognition from The Wall Street Journal, Vogue, and the BBC, and her following includes private and corporate collectors across Europe, North America, Africa, Asia, and Australia. Early influencers Derain and Matisse, coupled with a passion for Fauvism and Expressionism, are unmistakably conveyed through Fosse's bold, vibrant color palette and her unique deconstruction and distortion of the urban landscape. Living near water, whether coastal or river, has fueled her fascination with movement, reflections, and energy, inspiring her distinctive style. Working and residing in London, Fosse draws inspiration from her adopted home city and her travels, with cities like London, New York, Hong Kong, and Paris frequently featuring in her portfolio as favorite destinations.

Contemporary abstract painting. The use of Stajan-Ferkul's distinct neutral palette is carried through into her abstract paintings where emphasis is put on simplifying the composition. Textures and patterns play a large role in her minimal yet powerful work. // Andrea Stajan-Ferkul is a Canadian artist whose work conveys a sense of experimentation through the use of paint, fabric collage and abstract mark-making. While not exclusive to fashion, dresses have been a compositional focus throughout her oeuvre. With an emphasis on timelessness, her series of dress paintings shift between realistic representation and interpretive impressions. In contrast, her series of abstract works embrace minimalism, considerate to a restrained palette and composition. Stajan-Ferkul began her career in fashion advertising before shifting her focus to fine art in 2000. Her work has been exhibited widely through galleries and art fairs, and hangs in private and public collections across Canada, US and Europe. A graduate of Sheridan College of Art and Design, Andrea's paintings can be found in numerous public and private collections, her work has been published in magazines and book covers, and prints are distributed internationally. In 2009, Stajan-Ferkul was invited to exhibit her work in Ottawa’s Rideau Hall, hosted by (then) Governor General of Canada, Michaëlle Jean. keywords: abstract, minimal art, minimalism, grey, pink, modern art...
