About the Item
The line between sky and shore blur in this beautiful abstract acrylic by Sharon Kelly. A bright yellow sun in the lower frame adds a flash of brilliant colour in the overall canvas of soft whites and blues of the sky.
“I work with intuitive color selections, building up multiple layers creating paintings defined by subtle textures & hues. Textured surfaces blend areas of random mark making with areas of deliberate natural elements.” Sharon Kelly
She was born in Montreal and studied art history at Queen's University in Kingston, ON. Sharon Kelly is a self-taught artist and maintains a full-time studio by the Rideau river in Ottawa. Known for her elegant, non-figurative paintings inspired by oceans and waterways, Kelly has been featured in several solo and group exhibitions since 1999. Her works are in both private and corporate collections.
