Artist Comments
Artist Sharon Sieben presents an expressive abstract with complex structures in motion. The leaf-like contours embody the uncontrolled forces of nature. Bold shades of turquoise and orange glide rhythmically in winding arrangements. The black background accentuates the sinuous passage of the conceptual depiction.
About the Artist
Sharon Sieben prefers working in a loose, fluid technique and finds inspiration in the most unexpected things. Her parents bought her a set of oil paints when she was ten years old and it sparked her love of art. She especially admires the work of Impressionist artists such as Paul Cezanne because of how they broke tradition. When she's not making art, she enjoys reading and playing classical guitar and piano. She currently lives in Arizona.

Sharon Sieben
Prolific contemporary painter Sharon Sieben regards her artistic process as a form of communication, with the viewer and as an inner dialogue with herself. She is known for her Abstract Expressionist paintings that use bold splashes of color and a loose, fluid technique.
Born in Indiana in 1934, Sieben enjoyed a creative childhood, painting and playing music. As an adult, her artistic proclivities were put aside when she focused on a career in manufacturing operations and raising a family.
In later years, Sieben returned to her passion for art. She is largely self-taught, with her inspiration coming from her world travels, in which she learns from fellow artists’ workshops and through viewing the work of Impressionist artists such as Paul Cézanne.
When creating her abstract figurative paintings, nudes and landscapes, Sieben prefers working with oil paint but also incorporates other materials such as acrylics, gouache, charcoal and graphite. Recently, Sieben has explored watercolors, as demonstrated in her contemplative watercolor paintings Moment in the Sun and Depleted.
Sieben’s paintings have been exhibited throughout the United States in galleries and at venues including the New York Expo, the World Showcase of Arts in Las Vegas and the Boyce Thompson Arboretum in Superior, Arizona.
She is currently based in Mesa, Arizona, where she continues to create vibrant and imaginative work.

Artist Patrick Duffy displays abstract spheres representing the cosmos. He creates a compelling dialogue between the imagination and the fundamentals of all things space. Patrick explores newly learned concepts and a unique way to visualize them through artwork and design. Within his creative techniques, shapes become symbols of time and process—guiding the eye and mind to think of dark solar windswept patterns that are balanced and engaging.
About the Artist
Artist Patrick Duffy creates multi-scaled abstract compositions that seek to realize patterns through process, form, and color. Growing up in the coastal town of Blue Hill, Maine, he started creating artwork very early. He explores time, space, theoretical, and science fiction themes, describing his works as translated visions of paradoxes. Patrick received his BFA from Pratt Institute in 2006, being part of many shows in New York, New England, and Houston, TX. Publications include The New York Times, “Things to See in the Hudson Valley†for the exhibition “Intricate Realities†at the Catskill Arts Society in 2016, as well as “Creating in Color†for Trouvé Magazine Volume 3 in 2015. Artist Gary J. Noland Jr. unveils an enthralling abstract piece dominated by black and white strokes. He combines two of his signature series to create this captivating composition. Gary creates tension by applying a brightly colored grid to a muted surface that is scrapped, scratched, and sanded to reveal what lies beneath.
About the Artist
Artist Gary Noland Jr. creates expressive abstracts with rich colors, splashes, and mark-making. “I create layers that are then scraped, scratched, and sanded to give a glimpse of what lies beneath the surface,†says Gary. Artistically inclined at a young age, Gary was inspired to pursue his creativity after winning a poster-making contest in the first grade. Later, he completed his Master of Fine Arts at the University of Kentucky, fully realizing his dynamic abstractions. Gary worked in quality departments of various manufacturing plants—their floors layered with paint and tape that had been scratched or worn down over many years—became a key influence of his distinctive style. Today, his process begins with images of old floors...
