About the Artist:
Shiri Phillips is a graphic designer and painter in Omaha, NE. She studied at the University of Nebraska at Omaha's College of Communication, Fine Arts, and Media and received a bachelor’s degree in Art History. Her works have been influenced by impressionism and the geometric nature of graphic design. Impasto painted strokes of bright colors are the framework of artist Shiri Phillips’ abstract artworks. Phillips uses thick strokes of color and places them with precision on canvas, creating a graphic-like or pixelated look. Her art is defined by the deliberate use of upbeat colors to convey an emotional and physical response. Inspired by the vibrant surroundings she found growing up on the Mediterranean and the Southern Californian Coast, Phillips is driven by the philosophy of “color is life.” “My art is paired with intent to deliver pieces that hope to give the viewer the comfort of structure, along with the emotional release of abstraction. My study and love for Impressionism is also reflected in my art. The bold colors and loose brushstrokes are reminiscent of the great impressionist painters that I fell in love with as a young girl. By overlaying the various mediums in an abstracted or impressionistic way, I hope to create a unique and vivid experience for the viewer.” Born in Los Angeles, Phillips relocated to Israel at an early age and returned to the United States to finally settle in Omaha, Nebraska. Phillips has made a strong and swift impact since she started exhibiting her artworks. Her international experiences shape her colorful paintings. Her rapidly growing collector base shares her love for artworks that burst with energy beyond the canvas to fill any space with positivity and joy. Within a short time, her works have already been exhibited in galleries and art fairs throughout the United States, including in New York and Los Angeles.

About the Artist:
Marlene Struss grew up in California dreaming of being an artist for as long as she can remember. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Santa Barbara in 1973, working with such esteemed instructors as Irma Cavat and Howard Warshaw. Over the years Struss has created bodies of work in media including printmaking, surrealistic montage, realistic pastel, painterly collage, digital paintings, and, at the present time abstract acrylic paintings on panel. Because she strives to succeed without succumbing to artistic trends and dictates, she has developed a highly individualistic style of painting that can be described as biomorphic abstract expressionism. Struss has made steady progress in her career by exhibiting broadly throughout the United States, some foreign countries, and online and being involved in the arts community in Santa Barbara, California. Among the awards she has received are the Individual Artist Award in Assemblage from the Arts Fund of Santa Barbara in 2004 and the Best in Show Award at the Westmont Ridley-Tree Museum of Art in its Tri-County Juried Exhibition in 2019. Presently she is represented by 10 West Gallery and the Corridan Gallery and is a member of the Abstract Art Collective in Santa Barbara. She is also represented by Marina Kieser, art consultant catering to the movie and television industry, in North Hollywood. Struss's work can be seen in many television productions, including Man with a Plan, The Big Bang Theory, Mom, Lucifer, NCIS LA, By the Book, New Girl...

Born in Mountain Park, Oklahoma, in 1914, Effie Y. Goodman subsequently spent her early years on her grandfather’s farm in Missouri. She attended college in Ada and the University of Oklahoma in Norman from 1931-1935. After college, she went to New York where she worked under distinguished artists such as George Bridgman and John Corbin at The Art Students League in New York in the early 1940s.
She adopted the name Yeffe Kimball, adapting her first husband's surname of Campbell to form Kimball, and never returned to her small-town roots. She became a world traveler and student, studying intermittently with Fernand Léger in Paris from 1940-1941. In 1948, she married Harvey L. Stalin, an atomic scientist. Her art was influenced by Stalin’s work and she entered a new era, focusing on burning planets, atmospheric gases, and flashing comets. Her work was also inspired by American Indian spiritual...
