About the Item

Sunny River 2022 Staszek Kotowski studied at Warsaw’s Academy of Fine Arts from 1979 to 1985. After he had been awarded a Master’s degree in Fine Art, he taught there as an assistant professor for four years before coming to the US where he now lives. Many of Staszek’s paintings are inspired by the mystery and the vastness of seas, skies and landscape. These spaces invoke contemplation, they awaken our spirit, and hope that we may remain unobstructed by the tumult of life in industrial society - we may connect back to ourselves. Oceans and waters, not fully explored yet but being at the foundation of life, give us possibilities to contemplate . They resonate in us with their space, rhythms, power and always living texture and color. Paintings in private collections in the USA, Switzerland, Germany, France. Paintings featured in interiors by Juan Pablo Molyneux , Scott Snyder Inc., Harry Heissman Inc., Laura Bohn Design, Jackie Maritz Interiors , Lifestyle &Interiors by Lisa. Ocean Blue Abstract Expressionist
By Jerzy Kubina
Located in Lake Worth Beach, FL
Ocean Large Blue Abstract Expressionist artist signed and titled. Jerzy Kubina Polish/American Artist: Jerzy was born in Zamosc, Poland, 1956. Studied at the Academy Of Fine Arts in Krakow 1981/1986 in the painting department under individual instructions of prof. Jan Szancenbach. He decided to immigrate to New York in 1986. Jerzy constructs large scale images on silk using technologies to create layers, textures, translucency. He is searching for a language that expresses the ideas inside. Sometimes the paintings are quiet and translucent, and then suddenly become very dramatic. There is a symbiotic relationship between him and the materials. Jerzy Kubina has exhibited his work widely in the US, including at Soho New York's first-ever gallery, the esteemed O. K. Harris. He has also shown internationally, in Paris, Poland and Mexico. Kubina graduated Magna Cum Laude from the M. A. program of The Academy of Fine Arts, Cracow, Poland. Artist Statement. "I do not limit myself to a classical representation of an image. I'm in constant search of new media which not only enriches the subject but also inspires me to new forms of expression. Visual appreciation is a creative exercise performed in a specified time and a specific emotional state. The subject must be individual and unique. I do not attempt to keep a tight rein on my art’s framework, but give myself the opportunity to individualize each of the works. My present concerns are of the sacred and the profane, always longing for harmony, accompanied by destruction and devastation, my inner world translates that pulse into color images. My new works are a continuation of the process of creating art for art's sake. Selected Exhibitions: 2016 Square Peg Gallery, Hasting on Hudson, NY 2015 Roshkowska Gallery, Hudson NY 2014 Olko Gallery, Sag Harbor NY 2013 Kurier Plus Gallery New York 2012 International Art Exhibition, Poland 2012 BWA Gallery, Poland 2012 CPS Gallery, New York 2010 Museum Convento De Carmen, Guadalajara, Mexico 2006 Real Art Ways Gallery, Hartford CT 2005 80 Washington Square East Galleries, New York 2004 Leonard Codex Tower Gallery, Houston TX 2003 Fish Tank Gallery, New York 2003 Modern Art Gallery, Las Vegas 2003 Chelsea Museum, New York 2002 Puffin Foundation Gallery, Teaneck NJ 1997 O.K.
