About the Item

This artist is a recipient of the Pollock-Krasner grant awarded to artists with established abilities, established by the wife of Jackson Pollock. We love the work of this artist because his work bring color, vibrancy yet harmony and balance from use of symmetry or from composition of shapes and colors. The many underlayers of colors and brushwork explore depth and emotion to each unique piece. His work draws on geometric shapes, architectural constructs, that are harmonized with each other. His pieces are either a playful, tasteful interplay of colors or quiet, contemplative monochromatics. ABOUT PAINTING: This is a beautiful, dark, moody, strong piece that somehow manages to be quite meditative with its quietness - with its multi-layers of deep blue colors, such that it changes slightly depending on how the light hits it. Video attached for viewing. 40x56x2 inches Oil paint, cold wax and marble dust on canvas, stretched on wood frame Signed, ready to hang Enter FREESHIP for free or discounted shipping Painting wraps around canvas, no framing is necessary unless requested. Drawing from the architectural origins of his past work, this series of abstract oil paintings contemplate geometric spaces and their relationships to each other. Using oil paint, wax medium, and marble dust on canvas, the artist creates a harmonious balance on the canvas, characterized by textured shades of colors, with linear lines and shapes - allowing a meditative composition of shapes and colors to emerge. The artist is a recipient of the Pollock-Krasner grant awarded to artists with established abilities, established by the wife of Jackson Pollock. His work is held in various corporate and private collections worldwide. Strong layers of color and brushwork explore depth and emotion to each unique piece. Cimini's work range from paintings with vibrant color and energy to quiet contemplative pieces with rich layering of depths. Using oil paint, wax medium, and marble dust on canvas, the artist creates a harmonious balance on the canvas, or paper, characterized by textured shades of colors, with linear lines and shapes - allowing a symmetrical, meditative composition of shapes and colors to emerge. ARTIST STATEMENT Building on the architectural origins which have been the basis of my work for over a decade, I have started referring to my compositions as random symmetry. That is, creating a balance on the canvas with no discernible pattern allowing a symmetrical, meditative composition to emerge. I employ the golden mean as a reference which can often be seen in the composition. I use oil paint with a cold wax medium, layering the paint, as organic surfaces evolve within the restrained lines of the composition. During the process an environment develops giving an emotional story to the thoughtfully planned out compositions. My color choices vary, sometimes deliberately creating a series with particular color decisions and sometimes allowing the color choices to impulsively appear fueled by intuition and experience. Color remains a constantly unfolding mystery. In a recent exhibition, MATH TO BEAUTY is series of new paintings employing the golden mean as a basis for the geometric compositions which I've come to call random symmetry. This fascinating ratio, frequently found in nature and geometry, is perceived by many to play a role in the human perception of beauty. So much has been written about the golden ratio; to the point that it's hard to discern fact from fiction. But whatever the truth, the golden ratio has properties that has intrigued and inspired mathematicians, biologists, artists, musicians, historians, architects, psychologists, and even mystics for centuries. Using the golden ratio in the cavalier way that I do keeps me mindful of proportion. Just when I think it's working along comes color to challenge my senses. In the end my intentions are to create beauty in my work. As the Greeks put it, the three ingredients to beauty are: symmetry, proportion, and harmony. Geometric Abstraction Oil Painting on Masonite by Juliette Steele, Framed
By Juliette Steele
Located in Encino, CA
Untitled Geometric Abstraction, an original oil on masonite by Juliette Steele, is a piece for the true collector. Steele's use of color and patterns immediately captivates the viewer, reminding us of works by other pioneer abstractionists, such as Piet Mondrian and Wassily Kandinsky. Steele's puzzle-like, discontinuous sections draw you across and into the work. This masterful original artwork comes with a minimalist frame and would make a great addition to an art collection, enhancing most any home, and perfect for those who have an affinity for abstracts, contemporary paintings, and color-rich works of art.
