About the Item

Sue Carlson, Eclipse is a mesmerizing abstract painting that blends atmospheric serenity with rhythmic motion. Carlson uses fluid horizontal bands of teal, aqua, and deep blue to evoke horizons, tides, and the passage of time. A faint red circular arc—suggestive of a celestial event—subtly overlays the composition, hinting at the mystery and beauty of an eclipse. Known for her process-driven approach, Carlson explores color, transparency, and gesture to create harmony between structure and spontaneity. Based in the United States, she has exhibited nationally and is celebrated for her meditative, contemporary landscapes and minimalist abstractions. Eclipse embodies her signature style of lyrical abstraction, making it an ideal artwork for collectors of modern, atmospheric, coastal, or geometric art with a tranquil yet dynamic presence.
