About the Item
Sveta Hessler (Russian, born 1973)
"Rainbow Rolex III" 2024
Oil Paint, Canvas, Stretcher bars
The artist signed the bottom right and back of the painting.
"Rainbow Rolex III" by Sveta Hessler is a mesmerizing celebration of color, rhythm, and texture. The piece features a series of spiraling circles that seem to whirl with vibrant energy, each one a unique swirl of pastel hues, set against the stark white of the background. The colors spin in gentle, overlapping movements—soft blues, pinks, and yellows dancing together in harmonious patterns that pull you in, one circle at a time. Each swirl feels like a moment in motion, frozen in time, yet inviting the viewer to imagine the endless motion just beneath the surface.
The thick, impasto brushwork gives the painting a tactile presence—like each circular formation could be plucked from the canvas and held in your hands. These bold strokes and rounded shapes evoke the feeling of a modern take on the iconic, luxurious design of a watch, but here, time itself feels playful, light-hearted, and full of possibility. There is something hypnotic about the way the colors twist, like a carousel of dreams or a kaleidoscope of memories. "Rainbow Rolex III" pulses with joy, an exploration of color that invites both stillness and motion—like a moment in time that is both fleeting and forever.
About the Artist:
Born in Yoshkar-Ola, Russia, Sveta Hessler's artistic journey is deeply rooted in the vibrant cultural tapestry of her childhood, enveloped in the sounds of her family's singing and the melodies of guitars and balalaikas. This rich, musical backdrop has profoundly influenced her approach to art, infusing her works with rhythm and color. Sveta pursued her early academic interests by earning a degree in Social Psychology from the University of Moscow Social-Psychology in 1999. Seeking new horizons, she moved to the United States, where she continued her education and received a Cosmetology degree from the College of San Mateo in California in 2008. Despite her diverse educational background, Sveta's passion for art prevailed, leading her to embrace painting as her primary mode of expression. Now a self-taught artist with fifteen years of experience, Sveta excels in abstract expressionism and is renowned for her abstract spheres created using bold, bright colors and rich textures.
Sveta’s art is a celebration of life and beauty, drawing inspiration from nature, urban landscapes, cinematic narratives, and literary characters. Each stroke of her brush is an exploration of human emotions, moods, and the distinctiveness of the human spirit. Describing her art as gentle, happy, and uplifting, Sveta adds a touch of magic to each piece, transforming her canvases into vibrant stories that resonate with cheerfulness and vitality. For Sveta, painting is not just an activity but a state of happiness and a profound way to connect with the world around her, making her truly alive.
