About the Item
An abstract expressionist glazed pottery plaque by British-Japanese artist Takashi Suzuki.
There is minimal information about the artist, and unfortunately, there is a more contemporary artist by the same name that dominates the internet, so information is scares.
From a listing of a painting by Suzuki that sold at auction in Paris we know the nationality and birth and deceased years of the artist. That painting was from the collection of the famous Catalan artist, Antoni Tápies.
This work was recently purchased from as estate in San Francisco, CA. The previous owner of the work had been stationed overseas while in the service, and collected art from around the world.
This work was purchased from a show in Germany.
The painting is accompanied by a custom made wooden box, which was created to transport the artwork. (see images in listing).
