About the Item
The painting “Reciprocity” is a visual meditation on the moment of fusion of two principles: feminine and masculine, spiritual and physical, internal and external. In it, a surrealistic image of two faces—a young woman with fiery neon-orange hair and a young man in profile—flows into the symbolic space of a circle, where another dimension of reality unfolds. This circle is like a portal, a moment of mutual penetration, a space where something new is born.
The embryo emerging from this circle evokes the image of primordial life, the womb—a sacred place where the mystery of creation takes place. It appears in two places, forming a symbolic axis that unites the spiritual and the material, Heaven and Earth, the Conscious and the Unconscious.
In this artwork, there is no domination: the woman and the man do not oppose one another but rather mirror each other. Their gazes do not meet, yet their energies intertwine — and within this intertwining, harmony, unity, and new life are born.
The religious undertone of the painting can be read as a reminder of the sacredness of union — not only physical but also spiritual. It is a metaphor for the act of creation, humanity’s participation in the divine process of life. It echoes motifs from many spiritual traditions — from the biblical “and the two shall become one flesh” to Eastern notions of the harmony between Yin and Yang.
In today’s context, when the world feels divided and people often lose the sense of connection, “Reciprocity” serves as a reminder of the need for unity — between genders, between individuals, between humanity and nature, humanity and God. It is a call to reclaim our ability to see not opposition, but complementarity.
This painting is a reminder that the entire universe operates on reciprocity. If the light is bright, it intensifies and fills the color with a different context. For example, unconditional love develops this same bright light and multiplies it an incredible number of times.
