Tony Iadicicco
"Flow, " Abstract Oil Painting

2021

About the Item

This small abstract painting by Tony Iadicicco is made with oil paint on gallery wrapped canvas. Three parallel dark blue-grey horizontal lines are located at the top of the composition, with white on either side and between them. A larger block of deep blue, which is blended in areas with slightly lighter shades of the same color, takes up the majority of the rest of the painting, before breaking to a slightly lighter block of color beneath it. Iadicicco's abstract work explores the soft grandeur of nature: the blend of misty skies, the gravity of water, the unwavering and ever-present horizon line. Converging in the space between weightless and grounded, his compositions aid the eye as it settles in to find the beauty in balance. The sides of this painting are clean and painted light grey. It is wired and ready to hang, and is signed by the artist on the back of the canvas. This piece pairs beautifully with another one of Tony's paintings titled, "Steady." Images of the two together are available in the image gallery. Please contact us for more information. Born in Watertown, New York, Tony Iadicicco grew up in a military family, spending his childhood in Germany and Schenectady, NY. He studied Graphic Design for a time at Sage College in Albany, before moving to Florida and later, New York City. It was during this time that he began developing his distinct abstract style of painting, which features soft, blended colors, often centered around a notable horizon line. After ultimately returning to Upstate New York, Tony began working with community organizations and hosting his own studio shows. Now, his artwork has been showcased at various art galleries in the Capital District of New York, including the Clement Art Gallery and the Albany Institute of History & Art, where he was recognized as one of "Tomorrow's Masters of Today." He has also been named one of the region's, "40 Under 40" for his work in the arts, and spearheaded the Capital Walls program, for which he curates public art murals throughout the area. His work has also been exhibited in New York City and in London, England, and is part of private collections nationally and internationally.
