Trish Wylie is a London-based artist known for her large-scale paintings in oils and acrylics. About 20 years ago, her artistic focus shifted from abstract work to creating vibrant, large Western-themed paintings that feature iconic stars from classic Western films. One notable piece from this series is "Yellow Posse," which is a bold, colourful painting spanning over three canvases and measuring 5 by 12 feet. It depicts cowboys on horseback from the 1960 film The Magnificent Seven. Robin Baker, Curator of the BFI Media Teque, described her paintings as melting into the films, highlighting their immersive and evocative quality.
