Born in Kirkintilloch, East Dunbartonshire in 1936, Knox studied at Glasgow School of Art 1953-57, with teachers such William Armour and David Donaldson, before spending a year at the Paris atelier of the French painter André L'hote. Combining what he took from this experience with the impact of seeing the first show of American Abstract Expressionists in Europe in 1959, he began a diverse career which saw constantly changing styles, from gestural abstraction to still lifes and portraits. Untitled by Mark Lancaster, 1967 Additional information: Medium: lithograph 73 x 63.5 cm 28 3/4 x 25 in signed Mark Lancaster was born Christopher Ronald Mark Lancaster, but early in life he decided that "Mark" was his favorite of the three names. Educated at Holme Valley Grammar School, 1949–52, and Bootham School, York, from 1952 to 55, after which he worked in a family textile business and studied textile technology for six years, painting in his own time, before going to King's College, Newcastle in 1961 to study Fine Art. From 1961 to 1965 Mark Lancaster studied under Richard Hamilton at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne, where he also taught from 1965–66, and then at the Bath Academy of Art, Corsham, Wiltshire, 1966–68, while living in London. He first visited New York City in 1964, where he worked briefly as an assistant to Andy Warhol, appeared in several Warhol movies, and met Jasper Johns, Ray Johnson, Ellsworth Kelly, Roy Lichtenstein, Frank Stella, James Rosenquist, Larry Rivers, Frank O'Hara, Robert Motherwell, Helen Frankenthaler, Norman Mailer and many others. Post Dogmatist Painting on Panel, signed verso Cecil Touchon Born 1956 Austin, Texas is a contemporary American collage artist, painter, published poet and theorist living in Pagosa Springs, Colorado. Co-founder of the International Post-Dogmatist Group, Touchon is director of the group's Ontological Museum, Founder of the International Museum of Collage, Assemblage and Construction and founder of the International Society of Assemblage and Collage Artists. In 2005 an exhibition was held in Cuernavaca, Mexico entitled "Cecil Touchon - Thirty Years of Fluxing Around" in which art works and scores dating as early as 1975 were exhibited showing the fluxus tendency in Touchon's work over the last thirty years. Touchon has never been formally associated with the Fluxus group until the year 2000 with his participation in the Fluxlist - an email group where the current generation fluxus artists interact and collaborate. In 2002 Touchon, with a number of other artists from the Fluxlist established the Fluxnexus - a group of artists working together on various new Fluxus projects including a new Fluxus performance workbook. In 2006 Touchon established the FluxMuseum in order to assemble and archive samples of works by contemporary 21st Century Fluxus artists.
