About the Item

This 43 x 44 inch oil on canvas painting entitled 'Constructivist Abstract' features an energetic entanglement of shapes and lines in a color palette of black, white, gray and various shades of pale yellow/tan. The background color of the work is the pale/yellow tan areas, and the white and black are used to create the abstract shapes that take up the composition. The pale yellow background, upon first glance, looks to be planar; however, there are two corners seen in the distance, making the tan background actually representative of a 3-D space. The shapes are all elongated, organic but also linear, some curved and some straight angles are both used. Each shape comes to a singular point, resembling long claws or blades of grass. When you step back and look at the painting as a whole, you are then able to see what appears to be a representation of a skull. The two largest/longest curved black shapes act as the eye sockets, one on the left hand side and one on the right, while the two shortest black shapes act as the nostril canals, centrally placed in the bottom of the composition. The painting is framed in a wooden, contemporary frame. The artist is Unknown.

'I'll Be Back, ' by XVALA, Mixed Media Painting
By XVALA
Located in Oklahoma City, OK
'I'll Be Back,' by XVALA is a mixed media painting and colorful screen print with iridescent oil stick painting featuring the theme of the 'New World Order.' It was produced in 2015/16. The phrase 'I'll Be Back' is printed on the top and bottom margins of the work with the words 'New World Order' on the top margin. Three heads are stacked in the center of the canvas with the 'all seeing eye' on the top of the head. XVALA's art illuminates the hidden fallout spawned from our high tech Internet age. His 'Fear Google' campaign exposed the decay of privacy and 'No Delete' used hacked nude celebrity photos to highlight loss of control over personal information. The artist has worked with trash from the homes of Mark Zuckerberg, Steve Jobs, and others, as well as dirt from the graves of George Orwell and Aldous Huxley. The dirt appears in the New World Order collection as part of a pyramidal, 3D printed, living ant farm...
