Geo #2 36 x 36 x 1.38, 4.0 lbs Acrylic on canvas Hand signed by the artist Artist's Commentary: "This abstract expressionist painting signifies the quiet nights in the Southwest high desert. It is painted with a brush using a wash technique. The surface is smooth." About the Artist: Vanessa Ryan obtained a bachelor's degree from UCLA in Art and a Master's in Arts degree from UCI. She resides in Southern California and has exhibited her abstract work in galleries across the U.S. Because she has lived in New Mexico and the mountains and coastal areas of California her work reflects the landscape there. In her work, she finds joy in exploring the relationships between colors and shapes and wants viewers to have an uplifting experience from her art. Currently, she has several different series that she works in, often simultaneously, depending on her mood. For example, the Prism series is more concerned with precision and how shapes fit into a space, and the Abstract Expressionist series is concerned with emotions.
