About the Item
This painting was inspired by "Black Elk" an inspirational holy man of the Oglala Lakota people. His spiritual words and teachings endure to this day. The painting is on a textured canvas to give it an Earthy look or presence. I used mixed media to achieve the look I had in my original vision. Acrylic, Charcoal, Natural pigments, and Stain were all used to get the rustic weathered look. The sides or returns are painted to compliment the surface image. The painting was sealed with multiple coats of Matte Varnish to protect it from dust, moisture and time.
