About the Item
I listen to music while painting. I was doing just that on a rainy Spring day when George Gershwin's, "Rhapsody in Blue" came on. So beautiful. This painting was inspired by and created as homage to that gifted Artist and his incredible work. I use a professional grade of texture medium which I manipulate with tools that I have made over the years, found objects, and variety of Artists tools. I almost always incorporate the texture into my vision of a painting. I developed the process of enhancing a textural background of a painting with glazes, or many layers of paint over a period of years. I use a palette of mixed media on many of my works, incorporating acrylic, stains, charcoal, permanent inks and dry pigments.
