About the Item
A work from the series "Secrets of Memories".
I create my paintings by applying many translucent layers, just as people are made up of different layers, among them layers of other people's opinions, influences, and memories.
Our memory, in the form of memories, holds many secrets, good and bad moments.
Each layer in a painting interacts with another and creates changes, new patterns, just as each layer of a person's personality influences and shapes them.
The white layers on my works denote the veil of layers of time and other memories that gradually move away from us deeper and gradually become murky, pale, we can no longer clearly see the whole picture in the bright colors of our memories.
Something from our memories our psyche carefully hides from us, something is gradually displaced, and it takes a lot of effort and persistence to get to the essence through the veil of time, so in these white layers on my works colored spots are visible in some places fragmentarily, and some of them are not visible at all, they are barely discernible through the fog of dense layers.
In this work I used the color of green and sun, which refers us to one summer day when the grass was fragrant and tall, partially scorched by the bright sun, and this warm sunny day has forever remained in my memory, with its smells of wildflowers and cut grass, the feeling of carelessness and boredom, lightness, freedom, reliable support and at the same time dependence on parents.
But that day returns fragmentarily, covered by the shroud of time, white translucent layers hiding, like a fog, such an elusive childhood memory.
