In Golden Serenity, Yuliia Holovatiuk-Ungureanu refines her signature technique, an alchemical process that fuses cold wax, linseed oil, and non-conventional natural pigments into contemplative, tactile surfaces. Working exclusively with kumkum and turmeric—substances rooted in ritual practice and associated with vitality, protection, and auspiciousness—the artist transforms them into a contemporary language of energy and renewal.
The rich orange tonality radiates warmth and quiet luminosity, where color itself becomes a vessel of strength, focus, and meditative balance. Built through slow layering and gentle polishing, the textured surface reveals movement within stillness—an equilibrium between expression and restraint. Rather than illustrating emotion through form, Holovatiuk-Ungureanu evokes its elemental and spiritual essence: radiant, grounded, and infinitely present.
Exhibited at Untitled Art Fair, London, 2024, and RBSA Friends Exhibition, Birmingham, 2025, Golden Serenity forms part of Holovatiuk-Ungureanu’s ongoing Liberation series. Across painting, sculpture, and immersive installation, she continues to explore transformation through matter and consciousness, reimagining sacred materials as metaphors for inner balance and serenity.
