This painting was created for Yuri's "Gold Center Series," in which he uses gold leaf to create a perfect circle in the center of the piece. In this painting, the gold circle overlaps with a series of dollar signs that are painted in black and red, covered with a semi-transparent layer of white. His use of texture adds depth to the painting.
Yuri Figueroa was born in Colima, Mexico, in 1989. The themes in his artworks cycle around the concepts of identity, the individual, the dreams and the imaginary. He frequently creates images straight from a stream of consciousness; as well as those that purely explore with the abstraction of shapes and colors that he finds stimulating.
