Her relocation to the southwest in 2002 marked the blossoming of her career into the inspiring and sought-after celebration it is today.
In her artist statement, Yvonne describes her rainbow-drenched paintings as singing of wild tumbling hedgerows, tangled meadowlands, open moorlands, and magical forests, all whispering of love. Her intention is to transport viewers to a place saturated in joy. The vibrant spectrum of colors in her works is achieved through layers of materials, including oils, inks, glosses, glazes, fine glitter, and gold leaf, applied with various tools such as paintbrushes, sponges, palette knives, and fingers. These elements combine to create kaleidoscopic jewel-like compositions that reveal the radiance and beauty of nature.
Yvonne embraces the influence of weather on her art, allowing elements like lacy ice and howling gales to shape the final painting. The creative process is a physically demanding, emotionally charged dance around the canvas, resulting in a piece that exudes a quiet calm and peacefulness.
