David Crown 'Crazy Cats by Fireplace' , By David Crown, Acrylic on Canvas
About the Item
This 16" x 20" abstract painting was done by the artist David Crown, and depicts three cats sitting next to a fireplace. The three cats dominate the composition and become the focal point of the work, more specifically the white cat as it stands against the background, creating more of a contrast than the other cats. The white cat, as well as the two others, are painted in an abstract manner. The white cat's body is distorted, and it's coat incorporates organically shaped spots of purple, but is still recognizable, and its face is depicted with a variety of different, non-realistic colors such as vivid blues, oranges, and yellows. The white cat lays down, positioned centrally within the composition with its head facing us, upon the floor which is adorned with an argyle pattern of alternating rows of diamonds that are orange and blue and have yellow dots within the enclosed shape. The patterned floor is not depicted in a three dimensionally realistic way, again adding to the abstract style, but it is discernible as a floor because of the positioning of the cats as well as the fire place that is seen the background just past the floor. Laying down in front of the white cat is a small kitten, seemingly tucked in close by the white cat. The kitten is relatively very small is size compared to the other two cats, and its body is painted with a dark blue/green color, while its face is painted yellow and red. The third cat is positioned behind the white cat, in front of the fireplace, and looks towards the viewer. The bodily position of the cat is non discernible as it is partially hidden by the white cat. This cat it painted with the same sort of greenish/blue color that the kitten is painted with and also has stripes of brown and purple in its coat as well as blue spots that line the brown stripes, but not organically shaped and sporadically placed like the purple spots on the white cat. The cat's face also incorporates shades of yellow, blue and orange, as well as white and some red. Each of these cats, depicted in a abstract, unrealistic but still discernible style, add a fun, colorful and eccentric nature to the work, incorporating very bright vivid colors to highlight the energy and visual excitement of the work. The fireplace that is seen behind the cats is also painted in an abstract manner; the construction around the actual niche is depicted in a simplistic style, lacking accurately representational elements as the irregular lines reveal the gesture of the artist's hand and are devoid of any straight edge lines. This interior area that surrounds the fireplace, is made up of a color palette that includes purple, blue, dark blue/green and a light blue/green color. The fire itself is more representational, as the artist's free-hand stylistic choice is elevated by the general nature of fire and utilizes the accurate colors of orange, yellow and small areas of blue.

View All'Worship of the Moon, ' by Katrina Dordevic, Acrylic on Canvas Painting
By Katarina Dordevic
Located in Oklahoma City, OK
This 38" x 26.25" acrylic on canvas painting by artist Katarina Dordevic refers to the transformation of the form and visual integrity, the conversion of samples displaced from the authentic temporal and spatial frames. The objects in the painting cannot be directly linked to the content of the literary origin or motif. These segments are quotes of descriptive elements from prehistoric votive sculptures of idols (the Paleolithic culture from Lepenski vir, the oldest urban settlement in Europe, situated at the banks of the Danube river, around 8,5 millennia old. They were shaped as unique anthropomorphic entities that represented presumably river deities. The meanings that were given to these symbolical sculptures changed over time, but the strange expression of the stone idols...

'Red, ' by XVALA, Acrylic, Oil Stick and Spray Paint on Canvas Painting
By XVALA
Located in Oklahoma City, OK
This large scale 76" x 90" mixed media canvas painting by XVALA features a Basquiat-style large red creature predominantly placed on the canvas against a light blue background. Other colors include varying blues, golds and black. Acrylic paint, spray paint and oil stick were used on a linen canvas.
XVALA's art illuminates the hidden fallout spawned from our high tech Internet age. His 'Fear Google' campaign exposed the decay of privacy and 'No Delete' used hacked nude celebrity photos to highlight loss of control over personal information. The artist has worked with trash from the homes of Mark Zuckerberg, Steve Jobs, and others, as well as dirt from the graves of George Orwell and Aldous Huxley. The dirt appears in the New World Order collection as part of a pyramidal, 3D printed, living ant farm...
