About the Item
We have a fantastic interior painting for sale that has a cheeky orange cat rubbing up against the glass of a fish tank. This picture displays the artist's skill at portraying animals with great color and depth.
Walter Alois Weber, born in Chicago in 1906, was a renowned animal artist and wildlife technician. He studied zoology and botany at the University of Chicago and worked as a freelance artist. Weber traveled extensively, collecting specimens and creating illustrations. He held various positions, including wildlife technician, chief wildlife illustrator, ornithologist, and staff artist. His artwork showcased his deep appreciation for the natural world. He became one of National Geographic's artist, who would be commissioned for their efforts depicting animals. His wife, Grace Kiernan Weber, and their children share his enthusiasm for animals and their environment.
