Indian Ink, pastel and acrylic. Etching on cardboard mounted on stretcher, 140 cm × 100 cm.
Sold framed (oak frame, grey shadow box). Dimensions framed: 146 x 106 x 5 cm.
Zhang’s painting takes root in calligraphy and Chinese traditional art. This artwork represents black and yellow horses -in different sizes and heading to different directions- on a deep black background. Paint runs kind of blur the image, reinforcing the sensation to look at a scene taken from a dream or brought back by a memory.
