Anne Sargent Walker
Anne Sargent Walker’s semi-abstract paintings explore the beauty, complexity and fragility of the natural world, and our complicated relationship with it. The surface content of birds, flora and other creatures often degrades, peels back, dissolves or drips to reveal layers underneath, suggesting the planet’s warming, loss of habitat, species, the earth itself and of course us. Anne grew up in the Boston area and in Vermont, and has degrees from Connecticut College and Tufts University. She has had residencies in Ireland, Italy and Vermont and has been awarded a Berkshire Taconic Foundation Artist’s Resource Trust grant. Her work has been shown extensively in New England and collected internationally, including Fidelity Corporation, Waterway Capital, and Twin Farms Resort. She has been reviewed in Artscope Magazine and Cape Cod Arts, among others. Anne is represented by Fountain Street Gallery in Boston, MA.

Abstracted wild flowers and greenery wave under a blue springtime sky, where a tiny plane is landing. A circular pattern of arrows moving in opposite directions is overlaid in white and intertwines with itself and the fine red lines that grow like stems outward from its unseen center. Price Upon Request - KaianBy Robert MarchessaultLocated in Montreal, QuebecMy painting is an inquiry. I make images as a way of responding to experiences that are important to me. Experiences that help me to understand why I’m in this world often happens when I am outside in large open spaces. Painted images act as a tool. I respond to the spaces my art suggests. That response is usually non-verbal. I am interested in the experience of non-duality that “getting lost” in big spaces can sometimes produce for me. The paintings have gone through a range of artistic treatments with the recent years seeing a focus on space, light, textures, atmosphere and distance. My landscape paintings are made from memory, not from on-site drawings or photographs. I use memory as a filtering agent to remove non-essential visual elements. When a work is successful, it must have a sense of poetry. There is nothing “new...Category
