About the Item
'Holding the Light' is a painting about the soft light that permeates the valleys and hills of the Welsh hillsides. The mysterious valleys and mountains take on an otherness which resonates with my painting style and trying to convey the feeling of beauty together with a brief moment in time. This painting consists of oils & charcoal on a deep edge canvas and is 40x40x4cm. It is unframed for your own choice of frame to suit your interior.

Elaine Fox - Artist - Painter Elaine Fox's work is available for sale online or in our gallery at Wychwood Art. I love being in nature and concentrate on using paint as a vehicle to convey the intimacy of my surroundings and the sense of belonging and affinity with landscape. The landscape drives me to capture atmosphere when I am in wild places and I use these feelings and experiences in a very loose and ephemeral way to create my own personal view of the landscape. Most of my work is completed in the studio after drawing and painting outdoors.
