About the Item
In this work we find the image of the Buddha and several pomegranates, symbolizing fertility.
The choice of combining objects and materials of different nature becomes an unmistakable feature of his style. A taste for the intrinsic qualities of different materials, specifically chosen for their characteristics of gloss transparency and sphericity, not least, the optical precision with which the different surfaces are rendered. Croatto creates images where reality is transformed into a magical and suspended atmosphere.
Bruno Croatto (Trieste 1875-Rome 1948), painter from Trieste, he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. After the First World War, he came close to "Magic Realism". In 1925 he moved to Rome where he remained until his death. His home/studio is frequented by an elite audience that is also often the protagonist of his portraits. His still lifes embellished with fabrics, jewels and objects from the Far East are glimpses of the bourgeois living rooms of the time.

Bruno Croatto
Bruno Croatto became a pupil of Gabriel Hackl at the Munich Academy of Fine Arts but studied the Impressionists and the great masters of the 15th century. He painted figures, landscapes and flowers but his talent emerged in etchings and aquatints, in which, neglecting the drawing, he seeks only color and chiaroscuro effects. He exhibited in Monaco, Trieste, Paris, Venice, Rome, London, Prague and Vienna. In 1930, he held a personal exhibition at the Camera degli Artisti in Rome with more than 100 works among paintings and etchings. His works are preserved in the Prints Cabinet in the Corsini Museum in Rome, in Valle Giulia and in the Uffizi Gallery and in public collections in New York and England. One of his still life paintings is preserved at the Modern Art Gallery in Milan.

During 2004 yardeni settled in los angeles, on this time Yardeni's work was based on images, landscapes and jewish symbols taken from her childhood in Jerusalem. The dominant motif in her work is the pomegranate. In the jewish – Israeli tradition, a myriad of symbolic meanings has been ascribed to the pomegranate. This humble fruit signifies the land of israel and the revival of the jewish people. It is the symbol of the land's wealth and prosperity.
Yardeni returned to Israel in 2005, settling in the galilee.
She rediscovered the exquisite beauty of her home land and let the full expression of her deep love to Jerusalem from her soul and onto the canvas.Her recent work is full of light and joy reflect an inner spirit that is always reaching towards the Almighty.
