Diego Tirigall
Diet - Street Art

2022

About the Item

"Diet" is a thought-provoking piece that delves into the complexities of life and the human condition. The use of surreal imagery and symbolism in the painting invites the viewer to question the nature of reality and the role of the individual within it. The bottle of Coke on the left could represent societal pressure to conform to a certain standard of beauty and health, while the fish emerging from the word "Diet" on the right could symbolize the constant struggle to maintain that standard. The central grouping of a vase and skull with a large X on it serves as a reminder of the fragility of life and the inevitability of death. The skull as the focal point, and the source of arms that embrace the other elements in the scene, also could be seen as a metaphor for the mind and how it shapes our perception of the world. The background of the painting features an incomplete text that reads "this is life." It's a reminder that the meaning of life is always incomplete, always changing, and open to interpretation. The painting invites the viewer to question their own beliefs and experiences, encouraging them to confront the complexity of the human experience. It's worth noting that the interpretations are possible and potential and we don't know the artist's intent when creating the work.

    Located in OIA, ES
"Nestcafe Society" and Corporate Ideals A striking painting by Diego Tirigall prompts deep thoughts about the relationship between appearances and reality. The painting features a rough sketch of a well-known instant coffee brand logo with words "N3stcafe Society" beneath it. This serves as a powerful symbol of the illusions that society and corporate ideals can create. The Illusion of High-Quality Coffee The painting highlights the gap between the promise of high-quality coffee and the reality of mass-produced, preservative-filled coffee packaged in an industrial jar. The large axe that cuts through the words "N3stcafe Society" symbolizes the destruction of these false promises and the consequences of pretending to be something one is not. The red coffee jar...

This work invites deep reflection on our digital age, depicting Astro Boy as a white specter, suggesting the loss of an authentic childhood now supplanted by the flickering lights of screens. This message of resistance against the omnipresence of digital technology is reinforced through Astro Boy's stance, akin to Michelangelo's David, an iconic symbol of resistance and humanity. • "Land and Lake" Painting 47" x 51" inch by Ahmed Gaafary
    By Ahmed Gaafary
    Located in Culver City, CA
"Land and Lake" Painting 47" x 51" inch by Ahmed Gaafary Nabokov’s Signs Ahmed Gaafary takes Vladimir Nabokov’s phenomenal short story “On Signs and Symbols” as an instigator to series of large and medium scale paintings. The fictitious characters in Nabokov’s narrative who act mysteriously around the banal pseudo conflict that faces an urban family –that could be any of us—is transcribed and encrypted by Gaafary on canvas, where lines define accurately shapes and forms that are in themselves flexible and not geometrical. Areas of almost solid colors represent in a diversity of tones and hues the psychological changes that happen to Nabokov’s protagonists in a very well defined space and time. Gaafary’s signs and symbols on another layer resembles mystic ciphers and codes, much reminiscent of Jean Baudrillard’s post-structuralist essays about the subject, in particular his texts addressing mediation, mass communication and the logic of contemporary symbolic exchange inspired and influenced by anthropologist Marcel Mauss and the Canadian philosopher of communication Marshall McLuhan’s work about the nature of social relations determined by the forms of communication that any given society adopts. Ahmed Gaafary navigates his viewers through realms of personal symbols and signs of a personal narrative. Born In Cairo 1987 Where He Currently Lives And Works. He Received His Bachelor’s Degree In Information Systems In 2008 From The Higher Institute Of Advanced Studies And Followed The Evening Classes (Painting Department)Of Fine Arts Faculty, Helwan University From 2005 To 2007. After His Graduation as an Information System Engineer, He Gave Up His Engineer Practices And Decided To Be An Independent Visual Artist.
