About the Item
Ioana started "Irrational" in Milano (2016) and after a long thought-out process, it was finalized in Bucharest in late 2017. Conceptually, the project is a form of outsourcing contradictory emotions, thoughts and phycological tension while the artist's main concern revolves around the idea of simplifying and abstracting the body using strong strokes, lines, spots and colour stains. Flesh tones, types of greys along with imposing saturated colours define the chromatics of this project. The paintings and drawings belonging to this series are an intentional approach to decomposing the entire human figure and displaying its carnality.
