Marcia Wise's "Yellow Reflections" is a part of her reflective series of boats on water. From sparkling whites to soft values of blues and greens, this painting can lull you into comfort. In this painting, we see another partial view of a boat with more attention paid to the actual reflection on water as well as to the floating device at anchor, suggesting a restful and tranquil scene often brought by our experiences of the ocean. Framed in cherry and signed by the artist.
Marcia R. Wise is a Massachusetts-based contemporary oil painter and educator whose paintings are inspired by nature's landscape forms and patterns, color relationships, light effects and reflections, and the play of textures. Her work has been exhibited and collected nationally. Wise is represented by Fountain Street Gallery in Boston, MA.
