Raquel Fariñas
Raquel Fariñas, Spanish artist, is very famous as an illustrator of the childish comtes. The artist says, “My paintings are the medium that I dispose off to reflect on the reality beyond rational knowledge, to portray the beauty I always seek. When I paint, every element of the reality I am depicting is revealed as a carrier of truth and beauty, which confers them a different sense than its mere appearance or utility. At this conceptual plane, everything is interrelated and I notice another existence that I’m unable to explain with words. Then, everyday life makes sense because I experience, like Rodin, that ‘it exists, above all, what the greatest part of people does not know to see: the unknown depths, the foundations of life’. So, what I can not express in concept, I do it with images, and it is here where the world of symbols appears; the concepts of unveiling and hiding are connected in a symbol. Symbols, myths, dreams reveal what escapes from immediate experience, to consciousness. This is how I create shapes in my art work. In a tree I find the Natural Law of Development and Growth. In the circular, round, the Cyclical Law of the Sun and the Moon, and their celestial movements; the cycles of food and water. Also the fabrics are important: everything is weaved, linked. There is no opposition between up and down, the one is a reflection of the other. To see and to contemplate is not the same. When I paint I attempt to contemplate, and I give this contemplation to other people, who will transform my signs in symbols and my symbols in signs. I never ask to follow my interpretations. You, the viewer, are the creator of a new meaning.”

- High Plains DrifterLocated in Denver, COThis is an unframed original painting on wood panel. Micheal Ousley is a native of Appalachia, originally from the coalfields of Southeastern Kentucky. Having traveled all around the Western coal towns of Virginia, West Virginia and the Blue Ridge as well, he has formed a deep connection to the mountains. “My father was a coal miner and many of my uncles and cousins worked in mining or farming. I tend to view my paintings as ballads for the rough living and hardscrabble existence found in the Central Appalachian Coal region. The Media has always jumped at the opportunity to show poverty and decay in the coalfields of Kentucky. I view my work as being built around a pathos and understanding of the downtrodden and discarded; a poetry for the underdog." Mike says, "I decided I wanted to take my painting back to the way I created images as a child, based on memory and simplified. My biggest inspiration is the visionary and Folk art of Kentucky and other Southern Folk artists. I spent a good deal of time in the Kentucky Folk...Category

- Au Lac. Large Naive Acrylic on Board.Located in Cotignac, FRLarge Naïve acrylic on board attributed to a French artist named Le Bris as the work was bought with another painting signed by the artist. The painting is presented in a gilt wooden baton frame. Naïve art is often seen as outsider art that is by someone without formal (or little) training or degree. While this was true before the twentieth century, there are now academies for naïve art. Naïve art is now a fully recognized art genre, represented in art galleries worldwide. The characteristics of naïve art have a challenging relationship to the formal qualities of painting, especially as they tend not to respect the three rules of the perspective (such as defined by the Progressive Painters of the Renaissance): 1. Decrease of the size of objects proportionally with distance, 2. Muting of colours with distance, 3. Decrease of the precision of details with distance. The results are: Effects of perspective are geometrically erroneous (distinctive aspect of the works, like the drawing of a child...Category
