Sheila QUERRE was born in England in 1931 and studied art at the central School Saint Martins. She later moved to France near Bordeaux where she loves gardening and above all cultivate her passion: to paint landscapes.
She paints in oil from sketches and notes made during walks near her home.
Her work expresses all the emotions that the human being can feel in front of nature.
Through the technique of sfumato fuses trees with clouds, clouds with fields, fields with water and all this in a dialogue of colours, brushstrokes, solitude, sensitivity and extreme delicacy.
The masters of Romanticism (Turner, Constable) as well as masters of Impressionism (Monet) would welcome her with enthusiasm among their own.
Sheila Querre has exhibited in England, France, Belgium and among her collectors is the French State.
Sheila Querre sadly passed away in 2019.
