The exquisite grisaille presented here depicts the scene of the Adoration of the Magi and has been attributed to the work of Simone Cantarini, a famous artist of the 17th century. The work has been related by critics to the similar painting in the Torregiani Salina collection in Florence, for which this sketch may have been a preliminary idea.
