About the artist:
Teresa Saia has firmly established herself within the art community, demonstrating a sophistication of style, dynamic use of color, and a sensitivity for light. A native of Washington, she has studied with leading artists throughout the US and abroad. Her studio is located on beautiful Whidbey Island, an environment that provides vital energy for her creativity.
Teresa's work encompasses the mediums of oil,pastel and watercolor. Known for fluid, direct style, she captures the attention of many collectors with her expressive use of radiant and rich color. The mood and emotion conveyed in her paintings evoke a deep sense of the mysterious, romantic, peaceful and yet familiar settings. Her paintings explore the worlds she has discovered in her many travels abroad each year, as well as the beauty she finds in the pacific northwest and her part-time home on Whidbey Island.
Teresa is an IAPS Master Pastelist and a Signature Member of the American Impressionist Society. and has received Signature Status in the Pastel Society of America (PSA). Recognized by numerous national awards, her paintings embody a passion she feels for all her subject matter--believing it is necessary to continually develop, explore and grow, living a life devoted to art and bringing art to life.

Born in Louisville, Kentucky in 1856, Frank joseph Girardin began his art instruction in 1870 under Frank Noble and later Frank Duveneck at the Cincinnati Art Academy. A semi-pro baseball player in Cincinnati, he was best known for his beautiful landscapes of both Indiana and California.
An extremely active participant in the development of the Art Association of Richmond and original member of the local Sketch Club, he served on the Board of Directors of Art Association for several years. He was considered ranked next to the late John E. Bundy in talent and skill by the former Art Association Director, Mrs. Ella Bond Johnston. It was during his time in Indiana, that he received the most recognition for his work. In 1903, he won first prize for his painting, "Lingering Snow" at the Cincinnati Art Club Show. This work created while the artist was in art school.
Winchell studied art at the Minneapolis and Chicago Art Institutes in the 1930’s. He went on to teach at both institutions. Winchell studied under the noted artists Daniel Garber and Leon Kroll. Winchell exhibited at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts, Art Institute of Chicago and the Kansas City Art Institute. He retired to a quiet life in Painsville, Ohio.
Paul H. Winchell (1903 – 1971) was a printmaker, illustrator, teacher, and gilder according to Crump, 2009 (Minnesota Prints and Printmakers, 1900- 1945, Minnesota Historical Society Press). He was the son of Mrs. Looman Winchell of Shepherd Rd as noted in a 1937 newspaper article (Painsville, O. Telegraph). Winchell grew up in North Perry, Ohio and then studied and worked as an instructor at the Art Institute of Chicago.
