About the Item
The painting represents the meeting of Jesus Christ with Saint Peter.
Late 16th - early 17th century.

Antique wooden frame
Antique painted wooden frame.
The peculiarity of this painting is the very rare representation of Rome on the right.
We can see the ancient walls, Trajan's column and other monuments.
The urban landscape seen from above, from a bird's eye view, brings this work closer to Flemish culture. St. Peter is easily recognizable by the keys.
Excellent coloristic quality which testifies knowledge of Venetian painting.
So this painting is created by a Nordic artist who travels through Italy at the end of the 16th century.

- Moses Strikes the Water from the Rock. XVII cent. Dutch school.Located in Firenze, ITMoses Strikes Water from the Rock Dutch school, XVII century. Workshop of Jacob de Wet (Haarlem, 1610-1675). Technique: Oil on oak wood panel, composed of 3 horizontal panels. In this evocative work, Moses stands in a cave, gathering the Israelites. There was no water to drink or for their cattle.
