Midsummer Walk by Eleanor Campbell is an original abstract landscape inspired by the Cotswold countryside with its rolling hills, wild hedgerows, cornfields, occasional red poppy fields and summer skies with wispy clouds.
Eleanor Campbell, artist, is available for sale online and in our art gallery at Wychwood Art. Eleanor Campbell trained for 4 years in fine art at the Glasgow School of Art, where she achieved a B.A. During her foundation course she also studied textiles, ceramics, bookbinding and photography, she decided to follow graphic design as a profession upon graduating. I am a polystylist painter, I paint pictures in different techniques and in different genres.
A long time ago I started a series of subject-abstract paintings on the theme of Space, Universe, and Time.
And also Love, Music, Nature and Women. When I work on a painting, I select and listen to a beautiful melody and paint the picture with a great feeling of Love.
Collected from myths, legends and real life, these images have always excited my brain.
And finally, I gave free rein to my feelings and creative impulse and began to embody these images on canvases.
So that they finally find a different life and can give room for thoughts and fantasies to everyone who will be interested.
When I start painting, my heartbeat rises from the expectation of a meeting with the canvas and a great desire to paint,
I begin to tremble with my whole body, the muscles on my back are straining, up to cramps, and this feeling and inspiration does not let me go, all the while I paint the picture.
This is akin to the feeling of having a first kiss or wanting to possess a girl.
The feeling that now will happen, that something beautiful and unique.
You experience the same strong feelings in childhood when you sneak up on a bird or a butterfly before you grab and catch it!
And in the work on the picture there is in these feelings and almost physical suffering: foresight that now you will create a masterpiece!
And this is repeated almost every time - either in front of a blank canvas or an image that comes to mind ...

Style : Sudhanshu Sutar evokes imagery replete with nostalgia that he transforms effectively with his masterly hold over technique into a surrealistic leap into the future. Sudhansu is from the eastern Indian state of Orissa. In the words of eminent poet Kathleen Laine “The ‘real’ Orissa is what the imagination has created in her heritage of music, painting, architecture, poetry, all the crafts and arts together with her incomparable continuity in thought, and expression.” Whether it is Buddhism, Sculpture (The Sun Temple at Konark) or Odissi dance, Orissa has an impressionable image in Indian psyche and its history.
Struggling to find gallery representation at the time, he made ends meet in the capital by painting large format billboards surrounding Delhi’s most expansive exhibition space at Pragati Maidan. He continued to do a variety of odd jobs and endured as an artist; finding some recognition through a gallery in Japan that helped him sustain a modest living in the capital for the last decade.
His new work is representational of his roots from Orissa and the time he spent in Delhi. A marvelous combination of his rural psychological imagery and his complex survival in the big city reveals some visually salient images.
