A stunning oil painting by Albert Munghard depicting figures by a Dutch Canal, this piece was created after the great Dutch artist of the times Heinrich Hermanns, capturing the impression of the misty, humid day, the reflections in the water and the wet pavement running along the canal, the light shining through the lush foliage of the trees, the busy vegetable sellers, and the hazy contours of the church in the distance. This piece is signed lower right and it comes housed in a giltwood gold tone frame with hanging wire on verso ready to be displayed. Art measures 8 x 10 inches Frame Measures 13 x 15 inches Munghard was known for his charming intimate figurative scenes portraying life in Paris and Europe, and he was profoundly active, picking up subjects from the cities, parks, restaurants, cities, and much more. Under acknowledged as one of French-America's most active Plein air artists, Albert Munghard achieved excellence in his career, producing 100's of breathtaking works, now in many private collections and museums around the world.
