About the Item

"Five Seasons Media LLC" Oil Painting 30" x 47" inch by Evgeniya Buravleva Evgeniya Buravleva was born in Kirov (Russia) in 1980. 2000 – graduated from the Rylov Art School of Vyatka. 2008 – graduated from Moscow’s Surikov State Academy Art Institute (class of Pavel Nikonov). 2007 – had a study placement at the Berlin University of Arts. Since 2009 – a member of the Moscow Union of Artists. Since 2000 – a participant of exhibitions. Buravleva’s works are in private collections inside and outside Russia, in the collections of the State Russian Museum, Moscow Museum of Modern Art, State historical, architectural, art and landscape museum-reserve Tsaritsyno, Russian regional art museums, private collections inside and outside Russia. Evgeniya Buravleva works with ideas of time and space. Using classic forms of painting Buravleva ranges relations between space, time, and the person inside. The personage of artworks is the person exhausted by the present, forced to be in conditions of a post-truth world, a lonely hero at the threshold of decision-making. Space and time in artworks are connected with personage and depended on his actions, they are detached not for a while yet, not assimilated, and hang in sleep mode. The idea of light is presented also as important for Buravleva. The light dissolves the space and known things, and becomes emptiness, a white spot. It would be an image only of what the emptiness hid out. The artist lets have this right to the viewer and hero of works. Video is a continuation of work about time. Landscapes are assimilated and appropriated by the artist. The speed of transference of a contemporary person often doesn’t let him stop and enjoy a pause. Video saves in itself the fragment of time and space and gives the viewer the possibility to be not here and now. Buravleva supposes important to impart the moment of absence in the present for the personage of works. Lucky man «nobody, nowhere and never», the lonely main personage in the emptiness.

"Sur la Terrace” Oil Painting 25.5" x 25.5" inch by Katherine Bakhoum Tisné
By Katherine Bakhoum-Tisné
Located in Culver City, CA
"Sur la Terrace” Oil Painting 25.5" x 25.5" inch by Katherine Bakhoum Tisné Katherine Bakhoum represents art that has been forgotten for a long while. She draws upon the concept and the subject of the orientalism and the enchantment of that period. Through her work we can feel the researches she has done to reveal her Egyptian origins and the magic and power of the bygone times. Katherine Bakhoum has succeeded in imprinting her own stamp to evoke a new world full of charm, nostalgia and magic that is deeply implanted in her canvas. Her power dwells in creating her own style of contemporary expressionism building upon the old orientalism. Katherine Bakhoum’s art comes up out of an Egyptian childhood and from the distance of a life spent in France. What is left unsaid is as important as what is shown. Decorative yes, as in old orientalism, when everything was texture and what wasn’t texture was veiled, a reincarnation of old spirits, dervishes, orientalist motifs and the stuff of a once powerful civilization, the better to suggest it all might just come to life again. The choice of ancient subject matters, the echo of orientalist pieces in the collages, like the echo of the appeal of ancient gestures, of foreign lands, and domestic tapestries, all this weaves up out of Katherine Bakhoum’s creations. Sometimes we only have the line of a horizon on which to hang our imagination, sometimes we only have the trace of a profile in the shadows. What we always have is a persistent belief in beauty. Where there is beauty, there is hope. Katherine Bakhoum has abandoned neither. Lotus Number Four (Hard Edge Floral Still Life Painting of Lotus Leaves)
By Frank DePietro
Located in Hudson, NY
30 x 24 x 1 inches oil on canvas Inspired by close observations of the natural world and encounters with still moments that give us pause. Lines, shapes and colors encountered in nature, reveal the cycles of decay and regeneration that are life’s constant state of change. The work has a quiet, meditative quality. The subject is portrayed in a manner true to their existence in a specific time and place and selected based on considerations of visual relationships to formal elements of painting. Aspects of photo realism, hard edge and color field techniques are utilized to isolate the uniqueness of the subject’s detail, as well as emphasize flatness and illusion of depth within the two-dimensional space of the painting. About the artist: Frank DiPietro was born and raised in Scranton PA. He received a Bachelor of Art from Bloomsburg University in 1997, majoring in both Painting and Ceramics with a minor in Art History. In 2000 he earned a degree in Art Education from Moore College of Art and Design while continuing his studies in painting. Frank lived in Philadelphia for twelve years painting and teaching at several museums, art centers and schools in the region. In 2010 he and his family moved to Chester County PA, where he currently resides. Frank currently teaches painting classes and workshops at the Delaware Art Museum and Longwood Gardens...
