About the Item

A wonderfully vibrant and bold landscape study by the Australian artist Andrew Southall. Here he has captured two sheep grazing in a lush green field with surrounding trees, completed in a thick impasto style. Labels to the reverse from the Crane Kalman Gallery, New South Wales exhibition label and Bonhams auction invoice from 1993. Well presented in a substantial gilt effect frame. Signed to the lower right corner. On canvas on stretchers.

    Overall the condition is very good. their is some surface dirt and some minor signs of blooming on the surface. Flake of paint loss to the upper left quadrant that has been overpainted. Ver minor scuffs and marks to the frame.
