Anne Sargent Walker
"Out of Synch", acrylic, oil, painting, collage, green, tree, fruits, flowers

2015

About the Item

Anne Sargent Walker’s oil, acrylic and collage painting "Out of Synch" is one of many to explore the beauty, complexity and fragility of the natural world and our complicated relationship with it. A tree so lush we can barely see, where the wind has parted the long leaves, an acid green sky. Among the foliage we see fruits and flowers that in reality would not be blooming on the same plant, hinting that perhaps the natural world is out of synch. Birds and butterflies seem to be coping, but for how long? The painting is 48 inches by 24 inches on wood panel. The depth is 1.625 with painted edges. It is signed in the lower left on the front and also on the back of the painting. Anne Sargent Walker works and paints in the Boston area. Her award winning work, concerning our complicated relationship with the natural world, has been exhibited widely and is in private and corporate collections around the country. She is represented by Fountain Street Gallery in Boston, MA.

  • Contemporary Conceptual Collage, "Drunken Style Palm Tree"
    By Perry Vàsquez
    Located in San Diego, CA
This is a conceptual paper collage by local San Diego artist, Perry Vàsquez. Its dimensions are 21 x 52. It comes framed. The artist has used paper cutouts to depict a palm tree. The colors used here are black and whites. The artist carefully arranges paper to create something recognizable to the viewer. Vàsquez focuses primarily on his exploration of various iterations of palm trees. Ubiquitous in Southern California, and historically viewed as a provider of nourishment, shelter, and bounty, the trees in Vásquez’s paintings are instead framed in peculiar or dire scenarios. Many of the trees in his work are ablaze, or are actually cell towers...

  • Rynia 3 - Collage and Painting On Paper, Architectural Landscape With Birch-Tree
    By Monika Stolarska
    Located in Salzburg, AT
Artist about herself: In my works I move between various symbols. The language of geometry is close to me, I perceive it as metaphorical and open to space for interpretation at the level of intuition and feeling. On the other hand, I use archetypes from the world of nature: mountain, moon, horizon, water, road. I am inspired by modernism and constructivism. In these currents I find rhythms and phenomena that I also see in nature. I strive to combine these two realities. My work is often a dream of a great escape. Monika Stolarska...

  • Birches V: Minimalist Painting of Birch Tree Branches on a Dark Metallic Surface
    By Frank Faulkner
    Located in Hudson, NY
Minimalist landscape painting of white Birch tree branches on a textured dark metallic surface Birches V, painted by Frank Faulkner in 2010 48" X 36" Acrylic on Wood Panel Wire backing for secure installation Signed, verso The Birch Tree paintings are an elegant and sophisticated body of work painted by Frank Faulkner in 2010-2012. White birch branches are contrasted by a dark ground that transitions from black to steel gray. The Birch Tree is the symbol of new beginnings, regeneration, hope, new dawns and the promise of what is to come. The tree carries ancient wisdom and yet appears forever young. An impasto relief is created using acrylic paint on wood panel, in an abstract, almost bead like design. The minimalist landscape is completed on a sturdy wood panel with wire backing. The artist’s signature is located on the back. With a natural eye for design, Faulkner was well known for his abstract paintings of low-relief decorative patterns informed by his love of the applied arts, from Art Nouveau inlays...

    Located in Hudson, NY
Cloud #2 (Whimsical Miniature Contemporary Painting, Cloudy Blue Skies on Panel) by David Konigsberg 7.5 x 6.5 x 2", monotype on paper mounted on wood panel Signed, verso Painting is wired on reverse for simple hanging. Sides of panel are cleanly painted white, so framing is not necessary. Panel could also stand upright on a shelf or mantelpiece. Contemporary landscape painter David Konigsberg is well known for his conceptual landscapes that come alive in the space where earth and sky meet. Dramatic backdrops of tumultuous clouds above gesturally painted fields, informed by years of living in the upper Hudson Valley, provide a stage for factual and whimsical subject matter like flying space pods...
