Despite the inscription “WINTER” on the reverse, the palette avoids harshness. Instead, Herbert opts for earthy browns, ochres, and crimson accents, allowing the warmth of the boat’s hull and fishing gear to contrast beautifully with the pale blue wash of the sky.
