About the Item
Anthony Klitz
British 1917 - 2000
Klitz was born in Southport and studied both Art and Architecture at Cheltenham College of Art. Hi is famous for his cityscapes, most notably London.
He saw active service between 1939 and 1945 and after the war settled into his painting where he had quite a following. He moved to Dublin and that was where he died at the age of 83.
This is most typical of his work a lovely impressionist style painting with movement and light, arguably one of the most iconic scenes in the country.
