Signed lower left, 'B. Polach' for Barbara Polach (American, 1926-2009), a California Bay Area artist, and painted circa 1965; additionally signed verso.
Bay Area painter, Barbara Polach trained in San Francisco where she combined plein-air tradition with a modernist sensibility. Based in Marin County, she collaborated with naturalist Elizabeth Terwilliger and produced the illustrations for her book 'Sights and Sounds of the Seasons', uniting art and environmental education.
