About the Item
Brian Elwell began his artistic career at Chelsea School of Art, and was awarded the Chelsea Diploma in Fine Art and a Leverhulme Travelling Scholarship. He subsequently studied for an M.A. in Fine Art and a Higher Diploma in Printmaking at Birmingham Polytechnic and Wimbledon School of Art.
His artwork has been previously exhibited in London at St. Pauls Cathedral, The Mall Galleries, Artmonsky Arts and Roland Browse and Delbanco, as well as a number of provincial galleries
Brian was formerly employed as a Senior Lecturer in Fine Art at Southampton Institute of Higher Education, and is currently Director of Riverside Studios near Bath, and a member of Bath Art Society..
The London City paintings are a response to conditions of light and scale in the ever changing urban environment of the Thames and Canary Wharf.
