About the Item
"This painting was created entirely from life during the winter on the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii," said Daria Molostnova about this artwork. "I went out several times at dawn with a large canvas, standing right on the shore to paint in front the ocean itself. The waves sometimes crashed right at my feet, and the storm winds nearly tore the canvas from the easel. I was a true battle with nature."
"Such an approach is a rarely. Very few artists today work en plein air this scale - almost no one does. But I believe that live, on-location painting often surpasses what is done later in the studio. There is a vitality and energy in nature that simply can’t be replicated indoors."
"That struck me most in this landscape were the waves, shimmering and crashing over black volcanic rocks, and the sky filled with fast-moving, every time changing clouds. I tried to capture all that movement, light, and atmosphere in this piece."

Daria Molostnova lives and works in Hawaii, where she discovered the true beauty of the surrounding world. Her paintings reflect the local reality, expressed through her personal cultural code. A graduate of the Russian State University of Design and Applied Arts named Stroganoff, she earned her master's degree, blending the traditions of classical education with a contemporary artistic perspective.
Daria grew up in a family of professional artists, her mother being a renowned designer and lead doll artist of the Soviet Union. Since 1997, Daria has been a member of the Moscow Union of Artists, and since 1998, a member of the International Union of Journalists.
She has taught at the Russian-Italian Art School Perotti and the Correspondence People's University of Arts. She has conducted numerous workshops both in Russia and abroad, as well as team-building activities for companies such as Harpers Bazaar, Mercedes, and Coca-Cola.
Daria has participated in international artist residencies in such countries as Bosnia, France, and Italy. She is a participant in many Russian and international art fairs, competitions, and exhibitions. Currently, she collaborates with galleries in Hawaii and California.
Her works are held in several Russian museums, as well as in private collections both in Russia and abroad.
Daria's paintings are a fusion of flawless craftsmanship and a vivid sense of life that her work conveys. The inspiration and light embedded in her paintings will stay with you if you become their owner.
