Serene depiction of Mont-Saint-Michel (St. Michael's Mount) by David Saccheri (American, b. 1959). The stunning beauty of this iconic and historical island monastery settlement is captured wonderfully in this soft and sweeping landscape. St. Michael’s Mount is a rocky island topped with a castle. St. Michael’s Mount is one of the most famous sites in Cornwall, the southernmost county of England that juts westward into the Atlantic ocean. Although the family still have living quarters at the castle, the mount is now operated by the National Trust.
Signed in the lower right corner.
Presented in an ornate silver leaf frame. Includes original tag from the artist.

David J. Saccheri (American, b. 1959) is a painter, illustrator, and conceptual artist from Burlingame, California. After Saccheri graduated with Great Distinction from San Jose State University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree, he pursued personal work while teaching Painting, Drawing, and Photoshop both privately and at the College level. In the mid 1990’s, Saccheri was employed by Broderbund Software to work on a variety of digital paintings, backgrounds, concept paintings, and color models for the Carmen Sandiego series (World, U. S. A., Time, and Word Detective) and other computer games, including Kid Pix and The Prince of Persia.
From 1998 through 2002, he was employed at George Lucas’ Industrial Light + Magic, painting 3D textures on computer generated objects as well as matte paintings for feature films and commercials. Some of those movies include Planet of the Apes, Star Wars Episode I and II, The Perfect Storm, Rocky and Bullwinkle, and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. In 2002, Saccheri painted concept paintings for The Polar Express.
Starting in 2004, Saccheri completed illustrations for websites and books in a variety of styles, from layout to finished painting, as well as creating designs and illustrations for his own novel, The Ruins of Evermore, The TimeLight Awakenings.
