Snowy Creek in Hope Valley - Landscape in Oil on Masonite Detailed winter scene by American artist Dean Packer (b. 1933). Light shines down on the snowy banks of a creek. The water flows through a forest with birch and evergreen trees. In the foreground, small shrubs poke through the snow. Beyond the tree line, there is a silhouette of a mountain and a blue sky with puffy white clouds above. Signed "Dean Packer" in the lower right corner. Presented in a deep wood frame with a felt liner. Frame size: 21"H x 24.75"W Image size: 11.75"H x 15.5"W Dean Packer (b. 1933) began painting in the early 1970s. He was born in Oklahoma, but lived much of his life in Manteca, California. Packer served in the Navy and spent 20 years in electronics, 14 of those at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. Packer's paintings have been shown in a host of galleries in California, Oregon, Arizona and New Mexico. He was represented by Edith Kyle Gallery in Los Olivos in Santa Barbara County and New Masters Gallery in Carmel.
