Large Scale Ocean Seascape Abstract Monoprint - Acrylic and Pastel on Paper
A dynamic large-scale vintage abstracted seascape Monoprint by Dennis Frings (American, b.1945). Layers of color and texture build to create misty ocean waves that splash and crash with movement and energy, in a lovely spectrum of beachy blues with subdued pink, bronze, and white accents.
Signed "Dennis Frings" lower right.
Displayed in a white mat and basic dark wood frame.

The monoprint is a form of printmaking where the image can only be made once, unlike most printmaking which allows for multiple originals
An impression is printed from a re-printable block, such as an etched plate or woodblock, but in such a way that only one of its kind exists, for example by incorporating unique hand-coloring or collage.
The term can also refer to etchings which are inked and wiped in an expressive, not precisely repeatable manner; to prints made from a variety of printing elements that change from one impression to the next; or to prints that are painted or otherwise reworked by hand either before or after printing.

Dennis Frings was born in Illinois and has a BFA from the University of Illinois. He received his Juris doctorate from the University of Texas. His works has been exhibited at The Times Journal Company in Virginia, Brevard Art Center and Museum in Florida, The Royal Ontario Museum in Canada, and The Danford Museum of Art in Massachusetts. His works are in public and private collections including GMC, IBM, GE, Price Waterhouse, Hersheys, Wang, Marriott Corporation, and Martin Marietta Corporation.
